O.K. Tiller, but some frustrations

This tiller had power.  And, the engine was quieter than I expected.  It dug right in and clay didn't slow it down.  But, I had some frustrations with it.  With or without a drag bar, it would "set" down and turn and turn and turn without moving forward.  With a front tine tiller you simply give a little lift on the handlebars and climb up the front and begin digging down again.  Not this thing!  I had to wrestle with it much too often to get it to move forward, and it got heavy and frustration set in.  The position of the handlebars was odd --- I am 6', not a tall guy, yet even for me I found myself hunched over or bent kneed trying to position myself to the unit.  The wheel lift seems simple enough, but was at times difficult to raise to position.  I liked the tines, easy to position, remove, etc.  The unit stayed fairly clean and did not bog up with clay.  I think this would be a fantastic tiller in dry or loose soils, but it didn't meet my expectations for our Seattle wet clay conditions ---- and with 9 months of rain a year, the tiller must be able to handle wet soils!

I love this tiller

I've had it for 5 years.  Every year I do what the manual says in regards to winter storage.  I try to only use alcohol free gasoline, I drain the gas every fall, I change the oil every 10 or 20 hours and I use mobil 1.  The tiller is absurdly easy to start, and it does a great job.  I expect this tiller to last the rest of my life.  Honestly, I can't recommend this tiller enough.
