Great Mower so far, but way do you have such a wide gap between the Clutch engagement and the right had side of the handle. I order to hold in down, you need to stretch your thumb out to reach the bar. Why is not the same width as the other blade engagement bar?

I bought 3 of these one for me one for daughter and one for mother in law. Well built. Great engine. Works best bagging. Rear discharge blows grass all over your feet and mulch leaves nice rows of clumped grass off left rear wheel. Most irritating is when you try to pull it backwards while mowing the rear wheels won’t turn you have to drag it. All 3 of them do it. Like axle is locked in forward only. Dealer says that’s by design and not a defect. Right.....

I was familiar with Honda powered products since my first Honda 125cc motorcycle many moons ago. Much later came my introduction Honda hydrostatic-driven snow blowers; the machine blew snow in a 3 ft. downfall going uphill! A few weeks ago I purchased a HondaHRN216VKA self-propelled lawn mower. At 167cc, it's engine is bigger than the one that was on my motorcycle. I was expecting power, so the first time I used it, I was very gentle on the engagement lever (at least I thought so). The mower nearly did a wheelie with me attached to it. My right shoulder was sore for 3 days afterward. High grass doesn't mean anything to this beast; the motor doesn't even change pitch when plowing through it. I highly recommend this machine to anyone looking a self-propelled mower, only watch that power on your first time out.

Guess I had forgot that Honda made lawn mowers. After shopping around, discovered the 3 year extended warranty that Honda carries, plus the added year = 4 years because of the covid-virus, also it was priced competitive. Easy to assembly even for this 75 year old. Roll it out of the box, install handle with 2 wing nuts, add oil and gas. Then you are ready to go. The self propelled isn't slow, but easily controlled from gas peddle on the handles. I like the side dis charge, it is easier to mow up close to your fence. Read your mauel, it tells you how to clean the chute with the bagger option when you are finished mowing. I really like this mower, it is easy to operate, turn, reverse. Also with lung and heart problems it leaves me energy when I am finished, unlike the old Tank I was mowing with.l

Our new Honda self-propelled lawn mower is every bit as good as I had hoped. Starts on first pull. Mulches grass so fine that I hardly notice any clippings. Engine is quieter than my old Craftsman mower. Self-propulsion is a nice feature, especially on hills. All in all, I'm very pleased with this mower.

It is easy to crank, and it bags like a vacuum cleaner. The double blade chops the debris rely fine, it makes foe an excellent mulching mower as well as a bagger. The only complaint I have is the sliding door under the deck to move form bagging to mulching: Why is it there? If you just don't put on the bag it is mulching. Twice door has messed me up when I get little sticks or pebbles stuck between it and the metal deck causing the blade to hit it or not open and close all the way.

Because my funds are somewhat limited I did my due diligence to make sure I was getting the best quality for a reasonable price. This Honda mower was my final choice. A great mower and easy to use! The handle folds over the mower so it's easier to store. Minor negatives: Engine and blade stop at the same time. The rear wheel speed control is hard to manage over uneven terrain.

I have been very happy with my Honda mower. I mow my yard and two or three others in the neighborhood. I like the quick height change feature, works well to change the morning height. Starts the first pull and so far I haven’t had any trouble with the rear wheel drive. The bagging system does leave some grass around the top of the bag. You have to keep this cleaned off or you have trouble hanging the bagger back on the mower. Bagger works okay... I’ve never had a bagging system I’m totally happy with! This works as well as most!

We purchased this on April 1st and were able to use it twice before the clip holding the bag broke. This was not by any means due to rough use. We were directed to take it to a local Honda repair facility. It has been there ever since. We were told that they are waiting on a redesigned part. They said it was defective and they are hoping to get it by the 20th. I wouldn't recommend unless it has this part already. We are unable to mow our grass after the 12th due to fire risk so to say the least we were unable to clear our yard of grass before fire season. We are very disappointed by this but it was a dream to use before it broke.

I’ve only mulched with this mower and it does a great job. The clippings were very small and there was minimal clumping when I went through longer, thicker grass. Starts on the first pull even when the engine is hot. Very happy with my purchase. This mower lives up to the Honda name!

I have owned many a mower over the years, and the last few I had a Troy-bilt (all now made by MTD as well as Cub Cadet, Crasftman, etc.). It was a good mower mostly, but I went through 2 in about 5 years, and that is just mowing a residential lot. I looked at many and settled on the Honda..it was pricier than I wanted, but I liked the feature set. Two issues I had...did not come with the larger rear wheels (my lot is kinda bumpy) and the deck was plastic. Well, I have been very pleased with the purchase! - First, the mower starts like a dream with only one and maybe two pulls..the Honda engine is strong and not as loud as the B&S on the Troy-Bilt mowers. It also restarts easily when hot or just warm. The B&S's had problems restarting. - The mower has two blades and an adjustable door on the rear chute to control how much is bagged vs mulched. Works well! The clippings when bagged come out much finer which means the blades are doing a great job of chopping up the clippings. That was not the case on the Troy-Bilt. - The mower has much more vacuum power than previous mowers and picks up all kinds of stuff (leaves, etc.) on the lawn when mowing giving it a very clean look. - The bagging is phenomenal! My previous Troy-Bilt struggled to bag when the grass was even just a little wet. I know your not supposed to mow when the grass is wet, but hey, sometimes you have to. This mower does not even give a you know what about wet grass. Plus, the bag it comes with is larger than most.... The only complaint I had was the drive system...and that was only because I was not used to it. The Troy-Bilt had the Walk at Your Own Pace system, which is the opposite of the Honda. I am now used to it so no issues. Still wish it had the HIgh rear wheels...but oh well.

We owned a Toro Recycler 22 Mower for seven years. It is a nice mower but could have been great, but for many years we had to buy parts to repair the rear wheel drive system, including multiple sets of wheels, the entire wheel bearing assemblies and the transmission. The design quality of the drive assembly left me unimpressed. Knew it was time to replace it rather than continue the frustration of constant maintenance. Bought the Honda instead based on reviews and a personal inspection of the display mower. The three year warranty clinched it for me. I am looking forward to many years of service from my Honda.

This is the first self propelled mower I have ever owned in my 40 plus years of cutting lawns. I was concerned that It would not go fast enough...but the variable speed drive allows from slow walk to almost a trot. On full speed I have a hard time keeping pace. So, I am very happy with that aspect of the mower. It also started on the first pull right out of the box. It is quiet and cuts my lawn beautifully. I could not be happier with my purchase. The actual performance is great...cuts great, starts on one pull, and the self-propelled feature works as advertised (that why I gave it 4 stars), HOWEVER, my issue is with the overall design with regards to changing the belt. I ran over a small piece of wire that I did not see and it got caught in the belt, breaking it. I found precisely ONE place online to buy the replacement belt, rec'd the belt, and broke out the "manual" that came with the mower. NO WHERE in the manual does it tell you how to get to the belt (it should!), so I went online to see if I could find it there...NOPE! So I ended up watching a video on RepairClinic.com to change the belt on an older model. Started removing the shroud and the ONE bolt that would NOT break loose is the ONE bolt that holds both the shroud and the control used to switch from bagging to mulching...trying to get it loose, the SQUARE washer basically reamed out the slot in the plastic shroud. We finally managed to get the shroud out of the way to get to everything (let's call it "gentle but deliberate maneuvering"), and then the spring on the cable on the upper "pulley" popped off and we cannot for the LIFE of us find how it hooks back on. Now, understand, we are NOT idiots and we are NOT novice DIY repair-types (both in our 60s and have been performing maintenance on our own equipment for decades), but this thing seems to have been designed such that you almost HAVE to take it to the shop JUST to replace a belt! If I would have known this, there is NO WAY I would have purchased something on which you cannot perform what is INEVITABLE, routine maintenance. I "do" recommend it (like I said, it cuts great, starts great, and, when the drive system is functional, it is easy to maneuver), but ONLY for those people who are willing to put it into the shop to for ANYTHING relating to the self-propelled system.

I purchased a Honda HRN216VKA from an authorized Honda dealer in mid May 2020. I will start by saying this will be a weighted review biased toward the cutting performance of the deck. First off, The Pros:. GCV 170 engine: Though the engine RPMs were not set up properly from the dealer, after being brought up from 2800 RPMs to 3100 RPMs it ran smooth and was exceptionally easy to start. The smart drive self propel was very intuitive, easy to use and a pleasure to deal with. It was very light weight, and had a very good weight bias making it very easy to maneuver and turn around.           The Cons: when all four wheels were adjusted to the same height one of the two front wheels would never be touching the ground on a level flat surface. I checked this at the dealer against other mowers of the exact make and model. 2/3 of the Honda HRN216VKA mowers were affected by this same problem. The mower deck does not have sufficient vacuum. I tested mowing between 2.5 and 3.0 inches. Under normal conditions it would not stand the grass up to sufficiently cut it. I found a patch of good grass with some dandelions in my neighbors side yard and it failed to even cut all of the dandelions leaving around half of them fully intact. Upon returning it to the selling dealer he tested it on grass and over some dandelions and confirmed that the deck vacuum was insufficient and that it was not cutting well at all. He could not find any problems with it set up though, and attributed the poor cutting performance to the dynamics of that particular model. I returned to the Toro super recycler deck which I also tested alongside of this Honda model and will be keeping the Toro as it performed flawlessly, had very good vacuum and mulched perfectly.  In the five hours that it was used before being returned for a full refund to the dealer, it consumed a bit more fuel that I am used to from a Honda product also.  In conclusion I cannot recommend this particular Model mower.

I purchased two of these mowers. The first one developed a problem with the drive belt with in three weeks of use. The belt kept slipping off of the pully. Returned and purchased another of the same model. That one had a problem right out of the box. The self propel system was not pulling the mower as it should have. I had to push it, which defeated the purpose of having a self propelling system. I returned the second one and purchased a different mower. I strongly feel that these problems relate to a manufacturing flaw. On the plus side, it did start with one pull.

Easy to set up and start out of the box. Quiet engine. Mulches well, that is the only way I use it. It lacks a blade brake clutch, which disengages the blade and leaves the engine running. A Honda with blade brake clutch is much more expensive. This is an important safety feature that ought to be mandatory on this mower. As it is, the blade spins as soon as you start the mower.

Having never owned a Honda, and always a front wheel drive system, I made the plunge. Honda was recommended to me by those I trust. I've had it for a month. Have a mid-west sized quarter acre lot with lots of trees and flower beds. This machine works wonders. Biggest challenge (and I'm still working on it) mastering the speed control for the drive system. As a 77-year old guy I'm running out of umph and need the help. I am quite happy and would recommend the Honda to all.

This is actually my third Honda mower, and fourth with a Honda engine. I still have two of the old ones. An HRS21 and a Honda powered Husky. The HRN216 series being the newest, I had no doubts it would be good. What I didn’t realize is just how good! This unit is already my favorite out of all I’ve owned! It just feels great, with a quality feel I’ve only experienced with Honda mowers. This bad boy fired first pull out of the box, after adding oil, and fuel. I’ve mowed a number of times since I got it, and am actually enjoying mowing much more with this one! Great job Honda Power Equipment!!! This one is a five star winner for sure!! Highly recommended!!!! Worth the asking price and probably more!

I like the mower overall. I bought this to replace my HRN217 which needed a new carburetor. I had some bad gas and gummed it up. That put it in the shop for a few weeks. It has taken some time to get used to the speed control but I am getting more comfortable with that. I do not like that the mower has to be shut down to open the gate between lawns. Should have spent the extra money to get that feature. I could keep the HRN217 running with a strap while I opened the gate. I like the height adjustment better on this mower. I sold the my old Honda to a happy man. So this is like a card game where everyone won a little bit.

The updated 170cc motor is smooth and less noisy than the previous 160 cc version. The gas tank opening is larger and either holds more fuel or uses less... I am impressed with the updates.

I like my Honda lawnmower. It starts easily and everything is easy to adjust. However, I find it very difficult to handle - (a) I can't keep the adjustable speedy paddle in one comfortable place. I'm either not moving at all or running after the thing. I wish there were a way to lock in the speed where you want it, and (b) Turning the mower is very difficult - seems as though I have to muscle it through every turn. Never had the issue with previous mowers. Maybe I'm just getting too old and out of shape to mow my own lawn.

Switching from bag to mulching is very easy as is adjusting wheel height and removing and emptying the bag. This is a powerful mower and capable of handling rough terrain as well as mixed elevation with steep angles. I am very pleased with this purchase and expect to get many years of service from this mower.

I purchased my new Honda lawn mower to replace a Toro personal pace mower. My lawn doesn't have any flat area so a self propelled mower was a must. When I moved here 25 years ago, the Toro met my needs. As I have aged, the mower wasn't helping going up the inclines of my lawn. The problem is I couldn't walk fast enough going up an incline for the mower rear wheels to drive. The new Honda removes that problem when I control the speed of the drive with my thumbs and now the mower climbs up the hill. I also can walk to the side of the mower to cut lawn under a pine tree. I also like how easy it is to adjust the wheel height, much easier then my ole mower. It does a better job mulching the grass with the twin blades. In a few words, my new Honda is an upgrade over my old mower.

The mower is very nice and cuts great with plenty of power. Honda usually has great design on their products however the bag on this mower does not fit in traditional paper lawn bags for emptying. You make a mess if you are not careful. It's a pain in the butt. I had to buy a $40.00 funnel off amazon for it to work correctly. Also where the bag connects to the mower is also a poor design. It works but you have to clean out the channels the bag connects to every time you . Another suggestion to Honda is to put a wash out on top of the mower like many of you competitors.

This mower replaces my 18 year old Honda mower that finally mowed it's last. Engine still ran fine but everything else was falling apart and worn out. Axle bushings, wheels, gears, transmission cable, etc. I replaced the transmission once and cables as well as the pull cord and I could have replaced more parts but it's done it's duty faithfully and it's just time... This new mower is lighter, quieter, and cuts much better than the old (which was it's biggest issue - a poor cut and leaving standing blades). I like the convertible deck with lever to switch from mulch to bag, and the seamless propulsion is also welcomed. But, I'm not a fan of the speed paddle. It requires too much wrist action. I would prefer a thumb throttle or a some smaller form of speed regulator. Also, I kind of miss a throttle control to run quieter and with less fuel usage over thin grass or bald areas. I just prefer some form of control. But, I'm sure I'll get used to this new guy and hopefully, it will last at least as long as the old guy. There is an increased amount of plastic so longevity will remain the question for now.

I purchased this model due to the double blade for mulching of clippings and have to say it does a fabulous mulching while cutting the clippings very small in consistent basis. The lever for switching from mulching to bagging/discharge is very smart and easy to operate although once it didn't fully engaged onto mulching mode until I noticed the clipping discharging from the back (I suspect user error). I would have purchased the push model but couldn't find anywhere. Although this is a walk-behind it is very easy to push without using the self propelled mode. One room for improvement is the sensitivity of the level for self propelling as it is overly sensitive and difficult to modulate at lower speed other than almost trotting behind (no issue for me as I prefer to push as opportunity to exercise while having more control). Cutting ~6,500 SQFT @ 5 day periods

Nothing compares to a Honda engine. Combine that with Honda quality and engineering and you have a lawnmower easy to use and reliable. My previous Honda, HRA215SX lasted almost 30 years and I would have had it longer but I gave it away just because I wanted a new one. My friend is still using it. I must admit, I did like the blade clutch feature on that one, but this new one is a bit lighter without the clutch. I just have to get used to restarting it when I empty the bag. The auto choke makes it easy to start and it is much quieter than the competition. Buy one, you'll like it.

After a couple of weeks they contacted me and told me that they contacted Honda and were told that Honda told them that the rear discharge guard was no longer being manufactured. After further calling Honda they were told that Honda didn't have any in stock and that this part was on back order from the manufacturer and they have no idea when it would be available. Thought buying a mower with 2 blades would do a better job? I was wrong so far after 4 cuttings. The grass builds up under the mower more rapidly than any mower I have ever owned! Cleaned after each use and even coated with a silicone spray to no avail. The speed control drive is difficult to manage to say the least. It does start beautiful and store nicely with minimal space. I'm hoping I get used to it? How do you keep the grass from building up under the deck? Grass is not even that high yet. Maybe when it gets high and the temp. gets hot and humid it will impress me, but as of now, not so much!!

I struggled picking out a new mower that I felt was a good quality mower and was made in the U.S.  Narrowing down my choices I decided on the Honda which was supposed to be designed and made in NC. Well, for a Honda I expected more.  The Pros- It starts in one to three pulls even when the carb is run dry with the gas valve closed.  It cuts ok but most mowers do.  The drive system works ok.  The Cons- The engine is noisy for a Honda. Most Honda engines I’ve used were quiet and known for that.  The wheels are plastic. Not sure how they will hold up.  A good amount of clippings feed through to the bagger compartment when in the mulch mode. This is a nuisance when cleaning after each mow. I would attach a photo if it allowed.  I recommend this mower only because it’s probably the best of the bunch of what is out there.

Looked forward to using this mower because the John Deere dealership I bought it at has sold many with good reviews. I have used Lawn Boys in the past and didn't want to repair my last mower so bought this. It doesn't cut well which is the most important feature to me. I mow a strip at a slower pace than with my Lawn Boy and look at the strip at ground level and can see grass blades popping back up. I guess that's why it looks like I haven't mowed. It's senseless to evaluate anything else when the mower doesn't cut the grass. Don't know what to do with it. Don't want to mow my yard 3 - 4 times an outing.

I'm excited about the next 18+ years with the HTR216VKA. One observation: I set my cutting height high in Virginia, and set this mower to the max 4" ... either my John Deere was off, of the Honda is off, because I wound up with 1/3 more grass clippings at the same height setting with the Honda. Maybe I'll measure it before the next use.

So, I have an old "beater" mower for around tree stumps, etc., but I wanted a new mower for the rest of the lawn.  I've owned Honda cars/SUVs since 1998 and know their bulletproof reliability, so I decided to get a Honda mower.  Never had a self-propelled mower before, and I didn't need all the features on the higher-end models, so I went with the HRN216VKA.   First impressions:  Honda design and engineering is evident the moment you open the box!  The mower is already completely assembled.  All you have to do is take it out of the box, unfold the handle, add oil and gas, and you're ready to go!!   The 170cc engine is more than powerful enough.  It cuts through thick grass like butter.  The self-propelled feature is so nice that I MIGHT actually want to cut grass more often!  :)  Even without the self-propelled drive, the mower is easy enough to push.  (although I am well over 200 lbs, so not sure if women would have an issue)  I've watched the Honda site videos on this mower, and maintenance will be a breeze.  Change the spark plug, clean the air filter, and change the oil every year or two, and that's it.  This mower will probably outlast me.  Super happy I got it.  $409 + tax at Lowes.

I bought this to replace a craftsman I had with a honda motor on it. I like Hondas reliability, start on first pill motors but I should have waited until there was a craftsman with the honda motor in stock. The deck is unlevel. Like other reviews have said the left front tire does not touch on level ground. Also, this does not cut as well as other mowers I have had. That may be because the variable drive design is horrible. Who ever designed that hasn't mowed many lawns or has the most level easy to mow lawn on the planet. It's too hard to keep a steady pace, it's too fast. I think that is one of the problems with the quality of cut you get. If you are going to fast it wont cut as good. I am going to try and return it but most places won't take back a gas powered product unless it's defective.

I bag my front and back yard every time.  8,000 sf.  I live in Florida.  Oak trees and other trees with blooms require bagging if I don’t want to pull weeds every time.  This mower is powerful if you don’t mind mowing over and over again at a jog in the same spot.  I’ve used 5 times and it fails to pick up leaves and twigs in my lush St. Augustine lawn.  Further, I have to use grass clippers to trim pop ups not mowed and rake in areas my 8 yo Craftsman powered through like a vacuum. The salesman at an independent dealer talked me out of waiting for the new Crafstman with the 23” deck or the Toro with personal pace.  I’m sorry I bought this mower and inasmuch as I’m unable to return, I’ll donate to a neighbor and eat the fact that I should have gone with my gut.   First Honda.  Never again.  Expensive experiment.

Purchased Honda mower after researching Honda options and competitors.  Selected Honda based on my personal experience and based on input from others.  Cost ($409) at Home Depot was moderately higher than competitors but I knew I could trust the equipment.  Setup was easy even with no helper.  Oil and fuel openings are larger than past models and allows cleaner filling process.  Once I was fueled and ready to test it started on the first pull.  I expected at least two pulls to cycle fuel.  I have not used bagging but mulching at higher level with Fescue in new yard was easy.  Speed control worked well.  Walk fast if you move speed to high level.  I like that.  Worked well on slopes and is relatively easy to pull back.  I'll eventually try it on the sodded Zoysia front yard once it greens up.  I feel good about my purchase.  4 stars on features because that's equivalent to what I selected.

I have owned it only two days.  After adding oil and gasoline it started on the first pull, never had that happen before.  My wife tried it and also on her first pull it started up immediately.  Looks and feels like a quality mower.

Four of my neighbors recommended this series to me as they spoke very highly about theirs.

I tried one of my neighbors and like it very much, and now I own one.  I would have to use it for a month or more to write and more definitive review.  Purchased 10 Feb 2020.  The mower comes with a very well written and informative manual.  No tools required, open up the large box remove the mower, raise the handles, attach the bag, pour in the provided oil, add gasoline, clear away all protective plastic and pull back on the blade stop and give it a pull and your off to cutting grass.  You might want to check the level of the cut. Enjoy.

Love the fact they increased the diameter of the gas cap with the old one I kept overfilling the gas since you cant see the gas level so now is perfect for me. the leveling system is faster now with only 2 levers instead of 4.  The speed lever seems to have a better curved shape to it and feels very nice, it goes pretty fast for me so I could only go like 50% or you would have to run after it.  Many improvements over the last units I have purchased other brands and this is my favorite.  I did have a Craftman for a while back in the day when they made good tools and a snapper which I ended up returning. There are a couple of things that would love improvement but are not a deal killer 1. When you open the cover for the bag there should be a way for it to stay open so you can clean the discharge section of the mower and the other is no biggie I sometimes forget to shut off the gas and turn the unit on its side but the gas leaks.  If you do it to the opposite side is ok no leak I just forget all the time.  If you buy one you wont be disappointed in your purchase I am definitely smiling now while I am cutting.

Fantastic

Reluctant to purchase this new model Honda mower, HRN216VKA.  This mower was replacing a Honda HRR which was a total disappointment, constant power drive issues that were not resolved after three visits to authorized Honda repair shops.  I intended to purchase a new HRX mower but my local Home Depot doesn't stock this model. I researched this HRN216VKA and it had good reviews so went ahead and purchased it.  Set-up took 10 minutes, added included oil and then gas, one pull it started right away.  The power on this mower was amazing and the power was amazing.  I would recommend this mower!

LOVE IT

Used my new Honda mower for the first time today. Motor started on first pull of starter rope. Bagger collected all of the trimmings, including many fallen leaves.

Returned first Honda due to problems, ran rough and engine died on first use, wouldn't stay running. New HRN has worked great! One complaint is the grass, etc. that blows back at you from above the bag when cutting taller grass.

Haad to rplace mower.

Orignal mower MANA- 1009446 was returned because the smart drive stopped working.  Home Depot replaced it with MANA-1008729.  This happened on the day I bought it.  Too early to rate the mower.

I have had this same model mower since 2013 on the advice of my younger brother.  This mower never gave me ion issues.  So I purchased a new one.  This mower does have a little change to it but apears to be the same machine.  Starts on first pull out of the box.  The older Honda is going to my Daugher so she can mow her nrw yard.

very good

this is my 2nd Honda mower. My 1st still mows, cuts and bags, but I think I've used it up! The deck has 2 rust holes, and I'm on my 2nd set of tires in 10 years! Always starts and runs! I'll use it for leaves and mulch this year, and start fresh in the spring with my new mower! Can't beat a Honda!

Purchased last spring. Great mower for my yard. My yard has some slopes and the Honda power makes it easy. First pull start. Cuts very evenly. Mulch setting makes for well chopped mulch. Overall very pleased with it's performance.

Nice lawn mower, a little heavy, but very reliable, so far. I use the grass catcher and the grass clippings accumulate quite a bit in the channel where the catcher attaches. It might be be because it was the first time using the mower, not all of the blades of the grass were being cut. I had to go over some areas twice. I'll know next time if I use the mower, if the blades are dull, or if I need to raise the level. The grass wasn't all that tall but was a little damp from rain earlier in the day. The clips t lock the handle bar could be improved. Wheel adjustment height adjustment is a nice setup. It does start right up each time and runs really well.

Best Mower Ever

Best lawn mower I ever had! The mower comes very neatly boxed, where about all that's necessary is to cut the box away from it and raise the handle. After allowing the handle latches to fall into place, add the oil, which comes with the mower. The bagger goes together on its frame and is simply set into place with slots in the mower, directly below the shroud. Then use the green release lock to slide the "clip director" to bag or mulch, whichever you prefer. And true to the Honda name, it started on the first pull. The thumb operated variable speed self propelled is great, matching the mower to your walking speed. It cuts great and never slowed in my centipede grass Very impressive!
