We were in a parade and needed power for lights on our float.  Filled the fuel tank but was concerned that we would run out of fuel before the parade was finished.  Little did I know.  After the parade was over it took another couple of hours to run out of gas so I could put it back in storage.  l

The generator in my RV went out on the third day of vacation. I was in a remote area where there were no repair services.  I bought the Honda EU2200i generator as a temporary solution.  I was amazed at its performance and quietness.  It saved the trip.  I wlll probably purchase the companion and use both instead of my old generator.

When flying into a campsite like Oshkosh AirVenture what you need is a light weight generator to recharge your accessories and one that is quiet enough to not disturb the neighbors. This generator is outstanding. I weigh out at 37 pounds fueled and oiled and loaded in the plane. I run it for a couple of hours in the evening  sitting under the wing while we sit 20 feet away and enjoy the days festivities. I LOVE IT!

Bob from Forestville has persuaded me to go for the 1000i; he reminded me that I had a 7.5hp Honda four stroke outboard boat engine too. It was always easy to start with the pull cord and ran on sips of fuel. When a friend ran it into a mud bank blocking the cooling circuit he severely overheated everything. I had a long evening taking it down to check on the damage. I found no damage in the aluminum engine but gaskets in the exhaust cooling circuit were burned through. Here in the UK I had a new brass exhaust manifold complete with gaskets delivered within 24hrs from a Swedish Volvo Penta Agency. I'm guessing these Honda generators have the same build quality and postal service backup. I was fascinated by the quality of the very small components inside my boat engine, just like my grandfathers quality wind up clock.

My 18 year old  EU1000i finally stopped so I bought a brand x unit. It was out being repaired more than it ran, still out after three months.  So I bought another Honda and had the old one repaired for a reasonable price. I have learned my lesson. Honda is the only way to go. I should have known better since I had a Honda 7.5hp outboard on my sailboat in salt water for over twenty years with only 2 simple repair jobs I did myself.

I purchased this to use in outdoor trade shows.  I have used it twice so far and only wished that I had purchased it earlier.  I have it under a table and running two fans in a 10x10 canopy and it is so quiet that I can carry on a conversation in a normal tune of voice.

I've had one of these since 2009 and just bought another with the connection kit so I could power a gas dryer and horizontal washer (Kenmore).  I use them every summer and typically run daily for a week or more.  I've never had any trouble starting after a winter of idleness.  The generator always runs great.  I run eco mode most of the time which make my gas supply last.  I like that the generators are quiet (compared to the non inverter style).  Maintenance has been simple and winterizing is straight forward.  The new generator coupled with the old allows me to start the motor in the dryer with no trouble.  I like these generators and won't hesitate to by another Honda when I need it.

I am very dissatisfied with what I thought was going to work for me, sales people clueless about there products, when I went back to complain, management was full of lies again.  They do what ever to listen with closed ears so you will leave.  They have your money, and that is all Cycle Center of Denton, Denton, TX cares about.  I will not recommend that store to anyone.  The Better Business Bureau will be getting a complaint next.

While on my yearly 2 month camping trip through california anarizona i had trouble with my honda generator. Found honda dealers on line in surrounding towns from where  ii was. When i took my generator in i was told they don't work on anything that wasn't purchased there. What do you have to say about that?

Thos is a great quiet machine. Performs as advertised. I Pleasantly report that it also powers my refrigerator without hesitation.

I had doubts between choosing the honda or the yamaha 1000 watt generator. The main reason why I chose the honda was because you can connect another honda 1000 in parallell but the yamaha does not allow it. I am glad I did it!!.

I bought this generator for when power goes out i will have a backup till power comes back on.

It is lite weight so moving it around is easy. And has all the important features that are a must today. Inverter

power for nice clean power for today's electronics . Oil shut off so you do not hurt the motor and overload protection, and nice and quite.

So now have a generator for lights. tv and coffee maker what else do you need. Really if you think about it the power company works really hard to get power restored.

Well done and first class product.  I wish that it would have come with a bottle of oil, luckily I had some on hand.  However, manual and markings on the equipment made it to simple to operate.  Short of adding oil my wife could have done it.  I have used it a number of times now and simple, simple stuff.

Purchased as an alternative to our motorhome 4,000 generator to keep lights/fans running while camping where no electricity available. Our onboard generator works great but that much power is not always needed, the Honda EU1000I is perfect for when we need a full time generator. Very low decibels,  perfect for camping.

Needless to say I'll be picking up a Honda generator.

I go as far as I can go to get away from city lights to look at the night sky. I have a Jeep Wrangler 2 door, but even with my rear seat removed by the time I get my telescope, my Yeti 50 quart cooler, my Goal Zero Yeti 400 my tent and my German Sheppard I am out of room. I have a Honda EU2000I camo, but for my way out camping needs the Honda EU1000i is all I need. At night I start the EU1000i to recharge my Goal Zero Yeti 400, but most importantly to run my Sunbeam electric blanket that pulls 350 watts. I cant sleep in a sleeping bag and the desert gets very cold at night. Anyway I set the EU1000i 100' away and use a 12 gauge cord to bring power to my tent. At 100' you have to listen real hard to hear it. Even with my blanket on and my Goal Zero charging it stays in the economy mode, running all night. I can camp for 4-5 days on 2 gallons of gas. Goal Zero in the day Honda at night. I love the set up and go out every new moon. I also love that if needed it has a 12v 8a battery charger for the Jeep for that extra peace of mind, because a 50 mile walk to a paved road doesn't sound like fun. I just wish the EU1000i came in camo like my eu2000i

EU1000 as a marine power source

Type of use:  Home Back Up, Boating

I purchased my EU1000 to use as a power source for my 24' Bayliner cruiser. This boat is equipped with a single element electric stove, a small microwave a battery charger and an electric water heater originally equipped with a 1400 watt element. By selectively isolating these appliances, the EU1000 will happily operate them with the boat at anchor. To enable this modestly sized unit to heat water, I replaced the 1400 watt 120 volt element with a 3000 watt 240 volt unit. This 240 volt unit will then draw 750 watts at the 120 volt output of the generator allowing water to be heated along with the onboard battery charger to operate at the same time.

I am also able to run my furnace from this unit by connecting a plug to the second AC outllet that has the neutral and ground terminals connected. Otherwise, the furnace would not "see" the power due to the floating ground used in the generator.

This unit is very quiet, sips fuel and is manageably light to move around. The heavier EU2000i can be lifted if it is a "straight lift" but is less manageable than the EU1000 if storing the unit in some awkward location.

I love this little generator and can't recommend it enough.

There are cheaper copies, but I believe you get what you pay for!

I got one of these in 2003. It has been VERY useful from time-to-time. It has an all-aluminum block, so it is light, but probably not as durable as the iron-sleeved EU2000i. I get it to a Honda for service every 3-4 years. So far, I have had to replace a carb @ 6 years and the twist-on knob @ 4 years. I beat up the rubber feet, so two of them now need replacement.

In general, though, it has been fantastic. Just keep up with oil changes according to your use.

A recent snowstorm in Nebraska prompted me to use my EU1000i to power my essentials in the house. I found that this little generator will run my full size refrigerator, 80,000BTU gas furnace, lights, PC, internet, and 50" LED TV at the same time without overload. It would also selectively power my 700 watt microwave or toaster oven. I used the generator to power my main breaker box with the main power locked out. I personally feel that with the exception of my home's air conditioning the EU1000i would completely power my house with minimal inconveniences. I estimate the fuel bill to be around $150/month to run the generator continuously as primary power. Super generator. Starts every time without choking.
